Storing your home slush machine

Most likely you’ll use your home slush machine all year round.  But if, for any reason, it needs stored away for a short period or a longer stretch – for example, while the kids are away at summer camp or college – make sure you keep the family slush-maker safe so that it’s ready for action when the ravaging hordes return.

Before you put your machine away in the cupboard, first wipe it down thoroughly, taking care to remove any stickiness caused by spilt syrup.  Clean all accessible non-electrical areas using food grade sanitisers to ensure you eliminate any lurking germs.

Ensure that the whole appliance is completely dry (either using a soft cloth or leave it out in the air till dry). Wrap the flex carefully round the base of the machine and store in a dry, clean cupboard until the next time you or the kids are in the mood for an ice-cool home-made drink.
